A tribute to nature, inspired by Kew Gardens This Spring, acclaimed Pastry Chef Jessica Préalpato is collaborating with The Carlton Tower Jumeirah in Knightsbridge to create a unique Afternoon Tea experience, rooted in the concept of Desseralité – a style created exclusively by Jessica. Jessica is completely redesigning the hotel’s pastry offering and creating an exciting new take on an Afternoon Tea, inspired by the botanics and flora of the iconic Kew Gardens in West London.
Jessica is most noted for being awarded the title of World’s Best Pastry Chef in 2019 and Pastry Chef of the Year by Gault et Millau in 2020 and this is her debut project in London. The Afternoon Tea will offer a non-traditional menu with unexpected pairings, beginning with savouries, a selection of 4 scones with matching preserves and concluding with a beautiful array of patisseries and cakes.
True to her signature style Desseralité, a mixture of the words dessert and naturalité, Jessica will preserve and enhance the entirety of the whole fruits by adding a carefully selected layer of flavours, without compromising the key ingredient and its natural taste. Each piece will be a sophisticated display of flavour, taking the guests on a surprising journey through Jessica’s pastry work. Working with seasonal, locally sourced produce, the new menu will explore and celebrate the best ingredients available in England and is a tribute to both Kew Gardens and to nature.
A Tribute To Nature At The Carlton Tower is available on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 12:30pm onwards, at the price of £75 per person. The Chinoiserie offers a relaxing all-day dining experience in the elegant lobby of the newly refurbished Knightsbridge hotel.
